There is something about community coming together and running towards Christ with abandon that awakens my soul from slumber. What I have found is that I am fully Gabrielle Marie Engle when I am fully serving my maker. I am so thankful I was given this opportunity. You helped make it possible.
This summer at Kingdom Building Ministries I was able to witness God do what he does best. He broke chains, set free, healed, redeemed, and loved ferociously. I watched as 28 students walked into the office and started to share stories. Some stories rang of brokenness. Some bled pain. Some sang redemption. Regardless of their path and story, each entered through the doors of KBM with one thing in common: They wanted to know Jesus. In a culture that has created synthetic and cheap faith, many of my companions were wanting more. They looked to the world and found emptiness. They worshiped in their churches and found apathy.
Where had Jesus gone?
He had never left.
At the beginning of the summer I broke bread and shared wine with my fellow interns and staff. We prayed that we would hide behind the cross—that these students would see Jesus, not a speaker, ministry, or program.
When someone encounters God, they cannot walk away unchanged. 28 lives encountered God in new and deeper ways and were radically transformed. Ah, can it get any better than that?!
Thank you for being apart of a journey that transformed lives. Your financial donation and prayers had and will continue to have kingdom impact we will never be able to understand this side of eternity.
You can now find these students scattered across the country and world. Their hearts are on fire and they are living out lives of purpose. They make up families, churches, businesses, and communities. With Jesus they are changing the world, one life at a time.
That is what it is all about.
With all my love,
